Well finally got around to install the motor a few weeks ago. Had it running for not quite a week. Put not quite 300 miles on the motor.

The wastegate is directly connected to the intake so haven't been boosting much. Only been above 3K twice.

Just did a compression test on the engine and the results aren't good. Looks like I'll be rebuilding the motor here shortly :(

I am a newbie, but I will throw in my .02

Reading these posts I think I have myself decided to go with a more reputable shop if I decide to go the SR route.

Plan:1) find a decent S13 to drive through the rest of college (~2 years or so). Keep it stock during college, learn the car inside and out2)complete college THEN decide what to do. I may decide to drop an SR in, or maybe be more adventurous and go with an RB, maybe turbo KA.

Or I may tax the math and science skills I learned in college and see how much power I can suck out of an all motor KA!

Really depends on alot of factors. Availability of foreign market engines when I get out of college, where I find a job (if I find a job in Indiana, that would be perfect for an SR/RB swap, grandpa told me that Indiana doesn't even have a State car inspection), and how good of condition the KA still is in.
