So I got my s14 front clip today. I was looking at the ECU and it has a sticker on it that says "KS Rom" Has anyone heard of this?

No, not KSROM. But you probably have a chipped ECU. Open it up and see if there is a daughterboard. A peek at the quality of the board and solder install job might give you some insight into the quality of the tune.

The biggest problem you might run into is if the ECU does not belong to that particular car. Was it monted in the stock location?

Also, can you tell if it has a z32 MAF or larger injectors? (what color are yours)

The sticker on the ecu says it's a nissan remanufactured ecu. The model number on it is "2371M 50F00". I don't really know heads or tails what the ecu should look like so here are some pictures. Their are also two holes that look like it would be where the diagnostic screw and light should be, but I'm just going off of what my KA ecu looks like.

We got a front clip that had a modified ECU with KSROM on a small sticker on the cover. There is a daughter board on the inside that connects to the main board with a ribbon cable and has to Rom chips on it. One appears to have the stock settings and the other has the speed limiter and rev limiter removed plus we think a bit more agressive timing.

A switch was glued to the cover to allow the roms to be switched over. It works like a charm.

My son posted some pictures of it but I could not find the thread. I will see if he can post the link to it.

Regards,

Chris

The ribbon and daughter board looks like this. Yours may be chipped but they just put in a new chip. Without putting in a daughter board.

That is not possible with SR ECU's. Your ECU is not chipped, but it will be interesting to see if it even works.
