Am working on the brakes of a 96 240SX. After removing the calipers, I noticed there were two types of pins. One is like to pin in the rear disc brake, all metal. The other has about a one inch section, near the end of the pin, covered with rubber or noeprene . Anyone know the reason for the two different type of pins? And the real question, which pin is suppose to go where? Yes, I didn't look that closely when I took it apart. "The only dumb question, is the question not asked."

Check on the other side for the same bolt, although I know on my car they're both the same. Strange.

Both sides have the same two types of bolts set-up. All the diagrams I have seem show just the one style. But while I was at the parts store, the guy pulled out a new replacement set and it was the 2 bolt type. Strange.

Maybe the bolt was replaced sometime in the past, and he didn't bother to get the same one....
