i hope the title isnt too confusing but i didnt know how to word it better. im trying to install q45 brakes on my s13 and i was putting new seals in the holes where the slider pin bolts go. I noticed the one hole for the slider pin bolt is completely filled in. the other hole in the bracket is open like its supposed to be, and the other brackets has both holes open. im very confused why this hole is filled in and im sure its solid metal and not just gunk. has anyone else run into this problem? i hope my question makes enough sense, if not maybe the pics will helplet me know if this post is still confusing, i appreciate any help. thank you

Can't tell, but are you sure you are not looking at the brake pad sensor probe?

i was thinking of drilling it out. but im not so sure the old one broke off. the surface is perfectly smooth, too smooth for a break. and i thought there was a narrow hole in the bottom but it was just a small rubber cap that popped out

I dunno jeff. I'd take a big whack at it with a hammer and a steel rod and see if it comes out. It doesn't look like from the pics that the metal in there was cast inside that hole. I mean surely it wasn't supposed to be, but there is a hole to start with so I think water made it rust and grow together or something lol.Good luck with the shenanigans. Git r done for thursday even if it's not totally perfect!

nvm about my brackets... mine didnt have anything like that.... i just remember a cap in the one but it was a plastic piece i think was supposed to be there... grr im tempted to take my wheels off the next time im hope to check it out, all i know is i had to try my swap three times... the first i had one rear and one front bracket...

second time i realized the cailpers pistons werent firing together so when i finally got it working i didnt notice anythin like that

yeah the pics are kinda crappy so its hard to tell, but its def not a separate piece of metal ( i discovered this while drilling it out) and its not all rust either. just the one exposed side rusted. that little hole you see is only like 1 cm deep so not much luck there. i drilled it out i just need to make it a little bigger then i'll be all set
