i'm trying to take off the front bumper to put on my intercooler...i just wanted to know do i have to take off the fenders? and also...there's a little front skirt under the front bumper and i was wondering if i have to take that off as well....my intercooler is kind of small (boostdesigns IC kit) so i was thinking of just cutting the bottom of my front bumper..(leaving the skirt) and sliding that intercooler right in without taking off the bumper...what do you guys think? and this is a 91 240sx

Nevermind, I found them: 24" x 6" x 2.75"

My starion intercooler is 2 inches taller than that, but a lot less wide. It just slid in through the front bumper. Have you tried sliding it in first?

Pop up your hood and there should and look next to your head lights, there should be 2 bolts on each side, unbolt those, then raise your car up or turn your wheel to one side all the way, take off your mud guard, and take a look inside there should be a line of bolts between the side of the bumer and the side of the fender, take t hose off and then go under your car there should be some clips just pull those off and you can take of your bumper. Here's a picture of my intercooler hehehe

Dropping the washer fluid resovoir helps immensely. Those bolts that connect the fender to the bumper can be a PITA. But it can be done with one person brevi tempore.

yes i tried sliding it in but theres 2 bars on the IC to mount it to the body....but it wouldn't work because i have to cut the bumper also.

I see the bolts connected to the fender...i'm going to take those off and yes they do look like a PITA....i wonder if it's hard to put them back in if not harder

Its tough to get the top ones started, but the right combination of extensions helps a lot. Hardest part for me was holding the bumper to the fender to get the bolt startd. I don't think all of my bolts made it back in.lol

Heres what my BD intercooler looks like.

I also have pics of how the piping goes. Just let me know if you need them.

Those 2 bars at the bottom of the IC....did you bolt it down? or just slide it between that space in your bumper?

I bolted them down. I drilled a hole and found 2 self tapping screws that would work. Make sure you center it well. I didn't the first time and it drove me crazy until I fixed it.

What kind of paint did you use on that IC? I'm planning on doing the same thing but I dont want to risk any hazards into my IC or anything like that...is it ok to just spray paint it? or is there some special radiator paint stuff

A light coat of regular spray paint will work. Just don't apply to much, it'll make the aluminum lose it's ability to heat transfer.
