I ordered a rotor/pad kit from RockAuto for my '99 LE 4x4. I ordered the 691CH96720R, that comes with the Raybestos 96720R rotors. Well the rotors on my Pathfinder were smaller. I layed the old rotors on top of the new rotors, and they were much larger. I went to Oreillys and they tried to give me the same size rotors as the 96720R, but I was able to match up the correct rotors and walked out with the 96615RGS. What gives? On oreillys website, it tells me the larger ones fit and the smaller ones dont fit. What gives? The sizes we are talking about are 300mm vs 283mm. Which one of these rotors are correct for my truck?

Thanks for your help guys.

1999 was a split year. Up to s/n 350000 they had the 283mm front rotors, 350001+ had 300mm front rotors.

The earlier ones should be a 40206-1W200, the later ones -1W600. The Raybestos equivalent for the earlier model shows up as 96615R (standard) or 96615FZN (coated).

Vstar, you have all the info! Thank you very much!! So this is kind of like a factory upgrade. Are there any larger calipers that can be fitted to the Pathfinder?

They only show one knuckle for the '99's, so I'd assume you could use the 300mm rotors and get -1W600 caliper assemblies. They should bolt up.

What vehicle is that caliper from? Being that the 99-04 are all the same, wouldnt a 00-04 OEM upgrade work on this truck?

Yep. If your truck has the 283mm's then it has '98 brakes.

So to upgrade to these rotors, Ill need a new bracket as well as caliper. Right?

Yes. Nissan sells the caliper frame as an assembly along with the caliper and screws, or you can buy the caliper frame by itself (or raid the JY).

I was just wondering if a 15" wheel diameter would be an issue with this larger brake setup. I have the larger rotors and my 16" wheels have about 1/2" of clearance between the wheel ID and the outer surface of the caliper assembly. I'm thinking a 15" wheel would be kissing the caliper assembly, if the smaller wheel would even fit over it.

PF99NI, Do you have the stock 15" wheels or 16" wheels?

That’s a good point! I’m running Qx4 17s.
