hey guys, was wondering if anyone knows or has the has the same problem with front brakes on a 2000 maxi, is it normal for it to go through set of brake pads and rotors within six months?? i changed the rear brakes about 5 years ago and they're still good, but the maxi goes through front brakes like prostitutes go through condoms, its crazy! was wondering if there was anything i could do, better brake pads? better rotors or slotted rotors? thanks in advance for any tips.

As far as "normal" brake wear, it's based solely on the individual who is driving and the kind of driving you do. Stop and go, freeway, or a mix. It will change the life of the brakes greatly if you "jackrabbit" between lights/stop signs as well. I'm not sure that a different pad/rotor combonation will change anything. You may need to re-evaluate your driving style.

That's the weird part, i really don't drive that much but you might be on to something since most of driving is city driving in Chicago, anyways I'm going to replace the front pads and rotors over the weekend with "better quality" parts. Thanks for the advice.

Just guessing here;

Are u using a torque wrench? Might want to be sure the calipersand even the lug nuts on the wheels are tightened to the rightft pounds
