Hi,

This is probably a silly question, but---I'm replacing the front axles in my 1997 QX4. When loosening the bolts that attach the axle to the main drive, the drive/axle rotates --how do you lock the drive/axle so you can loosen, and then tighten the bolts?

Thanks,Dave

I am not sure myself but I am sure the procedure is listed in the service manual: http://Nicoclub.com/FSM

Actually, I have the service manual and it simply indicates to remove the bolts!

I used a screwdriver between the other bolts on the flange and as the axle turned the screwdriver came to rest against one of the cross members and locked the axle. Kinda a pain, but it got the job done.
