I have been hearing a noise (like a failing fan)from the front left-side of the car (where the Front FAS Pump is located).

I heard it more during the summer. I would like to know how to diag the cooling fan and pump. I don't want risk loosing a pump now that my system is almost restored.

Any and all help is appreciated.

If you mean in front of the wheel, there is no pump there, just a valve and the cooling fan/radiator.

The good news is that if you hear a failing fan, then the thermostat and circuitry is probably OK. Mine failed to "always on" mode so I wired a switch in to the circuit for warm up and cold days.

The fan is pretty accessible once you get the fender liner out, and if the bearings are starting to go it should not be that hard to replace. While you are in there you can hose the dirt off of the little radiator.

Check out the yards now and see if you can locate a used fan at your leisure, or price a new one from Joe, and put it on the shelf until you get time, or when it really gets loud.

It seems as of late my front active cooling fan is making a LOT of noise for a few seconds while starting it.

It goes away in like 3 seconds.

I just don't want to cause any damage to the system. She's doing so good now.

I will be getting my other 5 accumulators right after Xmas and want to make sure the system stays in great shape.

I would like to replace the fan if needed.

how should I test it Guys??
