Right after I signed the paperwork to turn my Q in for a new car later this month, the car started acting up really bad. For the past month, I have been dealing with a starter that sounds really really slow. By some miracle, the car had always started every single time. Well today it looks like my luck finally went out as the car refused to start multiple times. Instead of hearing the slow cranks, I now hear nothing and the starter just refuse to spin. My question is, is this a starter issue or a solenoid issue? I honestly don't need to drive the car, I just need to be able to drive the car so I can unblock it from the driveway and be able to drive it to the dealer for my new car later this month. What do you guys think?

Thanks

Possibly a battery issue? They don't last long in a Q.....Same thing happened to mine when the battery was on the way out.New battery, no problems

I don't think it is a battery issue as the battery was full and I had a jumper pack hooked up to it. I think it is the starter as the car had been cranking really slow.

I bought this car as a winter beater to use for 2 years, I got 1.5 years out of it and 15K miles with less than $1k in repair cost. I am happy. Now the car is going to get traded for a Prius

LOL, tre' funny

On the serious note, check your battery connections. Pull your batt connections off and check for corrosion and funky white or blue stuff. If any is there use a Coke and pour it on.... sounds crazy but it kills the corrosion...

Then it that makes no difference check the connection at the starter.... same thing, make sure its clean and fresh. Past that you prob have a nippendenso starter that was on its way out......

Sometimes hitting the starter with a hammer while someone tries to crank it will make it come ALIVE! if thats what happens, congrats you need a rebuild!!!

Hope this helps. Remember to make sure your connections are super tight!
