Picked up a set of 15" 4x4 rims yesterday from the lovely town of Batavia, NY. Paid $80 for the set!! All they need is a little elbow grease to make them look right. Using Coke, tinfoil and Wicked Metal Polish the results are quite obvious. Got 2 cleaned up today, the rest will be done sometime in the future.

Those cleaned up well. The rims I really like were on the 96-97 4x4's only....pretty rare. It was a 5 spoke aluminum rim...real sharp looking.

I'd love a set of those but as you said, rare.

Luckly someone did some research for me.

I don't plan on going that low or that low profile for that matter. Thinking 225/60R15 all the way around. Still have to take some measurements to make sure rubbing won't be an issue.

I like those as well but I had no luck finding those. I was lucky enough to find the set I found that weren't all rusted to piles up here in salt land.

Geez I just gave a full set of those chrome 6 spoke steelies away to my Frontier buddy. I also sold him my stock 15x7 steel Xterra wheels....Funny how putting a solid axle under your Xterra can limit your wheel options....

LOL, those are 2 different rims. Lets see how the rim in the first picture cleaned up. The curb rash on the first rim is not on the second pictures rim. I'd like to see how those rust spots cleaned up... acutally better yet, if you have aim could you just hit me up on my aim sn: xmetrix

Yeh I know, they both cleaned up about the same though. I just took a pic of the first rim I cleaned up.

What I got done today:

Here's the rim with the curb rash that was mentioned above. (just to lay that one to rest)

All 4 cleaned.

The two rims I finished up today.

That's cool, everyone is allowed an opinion. I still say that what I purchased is piles better than what I have on the truck now.

The secret is Coke-a-Cola in a spray bottle using tinfoil as sandpaper. Finish that up with Wicked Metal polish. Wash them up with a little soap on a soft rag and you are done.

I can't imagine how teeth-grinding that is while you scrub it off dude, lol. It's awesome to see active members in the truck section, your truck looks great man!

I plan to tape off the front of the rims. Then I plan to spray the rust on the back sides with that rust converter stuff. Then I plan to paint the insides black. No sense having nice chrome followed with nice amounts of surface rust.

what set up do you have on your truck? my suspention is shot I wanna go lower... this is what I had in mind for my truck droped spindles and new leaf springs (no lowering blocks for me)

6 lug is kind of a pain 2 get rims for. I'm thinken of getten an extra set of hubs to see if I could some how change the bolt pattern..

one last thing whats the stock tire size on a 92' hardbody? mine came with 195/70/14

I think the stock size was 195/75R14 with an optional bigger size. My suspension set up is stock. The lowered truck is not mine just to throw in a disclaimer, it's just such a good example of how the rims will be looking once I get them on. If I do go lower it will be tame, blocks and bar twist.

LOL I though the truck in the pix was you . My bad. I dont know many peeps around me... or should I say any peeps with lowered trucks. I would like to ride in afew so I could feel when a truck is too low. I'd hate to dum all kinds of money on a set up like the 1 I put up top and hate it
