So some of you might know about my situation with my current GT2530. The turbo's mostly likely done for. If it is, then I'll use this opportunity to upgrade to the GT2871R that has so many reviews. My question is, will I be able to run the GT2871R on my current ECU tune for the GT2530? I'm sure a reflash tune will probably maximize performance, but will it be safe without one? In case anyone's not familiar, the HKS GT2530 is similar to the disco potato.

As suggested by SupreamS14. Tune is for current mods:HKS GT2530 @ 17 psiZ32 MAFEVO FMIC3 in downpipeApexi N1 exhaust555cc injectorsNismo fprWalboro 255 lph fuel pumpSplitfire coilpacksNGK R8 plugs

I was hoping I'd be able to run atleast 14 psi on the GT2871R with my current tune.

Im pretty sure as long as you run less boost you should be ok.If your running around 14 now I would go down to maby around 8 as you would be moving a higher volume of air.You might want to add some more input of your current mods and boost levels.

I sure someone will chime in for a positive answer! Good luck!

Thread revival !!

Just wanna know if you ended up changing the turbo without doing a good tune and how did it go ?

I might buy a gt2530 soon, but would eventually upgrade to gt2871.
