OK, I myself need to buy a bov for my turbo, but through searching I havent found a direct comparison of the different types of bov's. I have this choice.

HKS SSQV- $350Greddy Type RS - $320Blitz DD - $150Turbo XS RFL - $150

you could reply to my situation in words and vote on what you think is the best one regardless of price, this would be for those searching in the future for a good bov.

also could you state why you chose the bov, how reliable is it, does it leak, or fail. You can also state why you wouldn't choose a bov.

Hopefully this will help lots of members

check your prices on the hks and the greddy.....they shouldn't go for more than $210-220......

my hks was only $210 from enjukuracing.com.....but i also bought a hotpipe w/it that made the total cost like $320.....

hks will sound off at almost any rpm.......very loud as well.....i love it....and depending on whether ure shifting or just letting off the gas you'll get a different sound.....loud whoosh sound shifting gears and a loud flutter when you let off.....

some other sites to check out are heavythrottle.com and jgycustoms.com

I get what you're saying, but seeing as I'm in the Bahamas I've gotta buy the BOV, pay for shipping, pay for sending the money to the company too.

Unless I buy it from someone who brings in parts, and then they have to make a profit so I'll still end up paying in that range. Hopefully I can find someone to bring it in for cheaper.

No the HKS retails for around $200

ANYWAY, thye HKS is LOUD.. like hear it from 200feet away loud! You let off on a shift and EVERYONE looks at you, Kinda freeky to draw that much attention to your car IMO.

I don't have sound on my computer ATM to check but IIRC this guy had a HKS SSQ BOV http://videos.streetfire.net/s...e.htm

although the hsk ssq is so common, it does the job the best, doesnt need to be recirculated and no idle issues

i had the turbo xs rfl on my sr when i was running blow through and it was insanely loud, twice as loud as my buddys hks ssqv. then i went back to normal maf placement and went to the h34 from turbo xs, same thing, just recirculated.

I've had people tell me they don't like the RFL over here, and my buddy supposedly has an RFL on his car but I don't hardly hear it at all. I need to check and see if it's recirculated, and it might be a knockoff. But does it leak? and how loud is RFL? cuz seriously, unless the MR2 that's around the corner has an RFL I havent heard one. (and I believe it might. cuz that car is D-E-A-D, like running 5-6lbs of boost type dead and that bov is L-O-U-D)

rfl holds 35+ psi, ive obviously never had a problem, never boosted past 14psi. it stands for Real Fvcking Loud, so yeah, loud is an understatement.

Ive got the Greddy Type RS and boosted 24psi without leaking before. 19psi is normal boost for me with no problems. Has the whoosh sound and isnt too loud. I think the Greddy Type R will be my next BOV.

the ssqv has crap for response. i'd avoid that thing. The blitz bov's are notorious for leaking boost as they get older.

The apexi's supposed to respond very quickly but has no provisions for recirculation.

The tial is a solid choice, however, it too has no provisions for recirculation.

Personally I went with the Sard R2D2 through type. Good response, no leaks, and has the recirculated fit I was looking for.

You must not have had your SSQV adjusted right, because mine sure blows off at like 2psi.
