Hey all. A friend of mine, had her G stripped Thurs. night. The A holes took the entire front off the car, wheels, and driver airbag. Yes the entire front. Hood, fenders, bumper, grill, headlights, radiator core support and radiator.

Her car is now total loss. Over 19k to repair it.

I need everyone to keep a look out on the boards in the for sale sections for these parts. The seller will be from the Norther VA or Southern MD area. She lives near DC.

The body parts are Pearl White and the airbag is tan.

If you see anyone trying to sell them, please let me know, so I can have her contact the police.

Thanks in advanceJerry

That's horrible, what a way to loose a G. If you have the VIN can you email it to me and I'll keep an eye out. Chances are the parts where stolen for a specific car. It's a damn shame to see this type of crime.

I was thinking the same thing Steve. I bet it was to repair another G of the same color. The pics of it will make you sick. It happened in the parking garage at her apt. It looks like they were going to try and take the car. The ignition switch was pryed out of the colum.

This was her graduation present to herself from college. Bought it new on 04.

Aww that's a shame. Is she planning on replacing it with the insurance payout?

Theives around here never fail to amaze. Their determination and motivation could be used for an actual job but that wouldn't be as fun.

Might be worthwhile to have the police cross reference any recent front end accidents of "same cars".

I didn't do it! I am from Cali!

Maybe I should get a bodyguard for my G.

DAMN that sucks! Be sure to keep checking craigslist and ebay on top of looking out on other forums too. My roommate's car got broken into once and had his personalized jersey stolen (with his name on it) and found it on ebay. Guy got busted. Good luck catching the bastard that stripped the G

My experience in the auto insurance claims field would suggest that those parts had a home when they were stolen. Did they steal the car first and strip it somewhere else? They would have had to flatbed the car if they moved it and the alarm would have sounded if they opened the doors at the scene which they would have had to do to get the fenders and airbag off. I really doubt if you'll see those parts up for sale. If it this was my car, the first place I would look is all the total loss auctions in a 100 mile radius to see if any similar year cars that needed a nose and airbag were recently sold. They may have bought a rebuildable total loss and borrowed your friend's parts...

Thanks for the info on having the police check for recent accidents on same type car. I'll pass that on to her.

The car was stripped in the parking garage of her apt. Got to love how no one watches out for anyone. You know someone had to have heard or seen something.

A 37 is a good replacement for a G that met it's end far too soon. That sucks though we all develop a bond with out machines, having it meet it's end while your asleep is just awful, you must feel like you could have done something if you had only heard them.

Oh come on there are pros and cons to living inside the Beltway. It's not for everyone. Personally I'm happy in my condo in Alexandria, I stay out of DC and MD for the most part, and very rarely venture out of a 3sq. mile square. NoVA is great though, I like the international restaurants and the fact that things are open later (and no blue laws) than they are in the sticks. I grew up in the sticks of Southern New England and the suburbs are where it's at.

That's really an impressive crime (if you think about the deed not the people involved) being able to strip the body components without setting the alarm or damaging the parts in the dark, and all while being absolutely silent. I think they should all be publicly beaten with drive belts, but the ability to complete such a task shows just how far some people will go if the money is right.

Like someone mentioned above these parts had a home as they were being removed. I'm guessing the crashed car was either damaged during the commission of a crime, dui, hit and run, or an insurance scam. Even the worst insurance company doesn't authorize mounted parts off other peoples cars.

True insurance company will not authorize parts off of someones car. But they do authorize "salvage" parts. And who is to say that some shady body shop doesn't "employ" some one or ones to procure salvage parts for them.

The risk is not worth the reward, but I'm seriously amazed and appauled when I see that happen. Arlington and Fairfax counties would be all over something like that, task force and dedicated website all the way. There's a shady G that's been wrecked and poorly repaired somewhere around here great, add that to the other one I see that has the front end of an 06 Premium Sedan and the rear of an early 03 Sedan. It's the ONLY G in existence with iKey and a doggy door trunk. They should just be let go, they are not usually the same after a serious incident.

What crap,They just caught two kids up hear stealing cars, one 12 and one 16 years old... What's wrong with the world today?

Hopefully she can look into other local G owners, not that we're pointing at other G owners, but I can only see another G owner with the same color doing this, I'm not a detective but that's the only thing that would make sense... Good luck finding the bastards, and make them pay for what theyve done.

Well her car has been removed by the insurance company and sent to a salvage yard. So even if the parts are recovered, it is one less G35 6mt running the open roads. RIP

When I was much younger there was a car up the street that had its engine and transmission pulled in less than 1/2 hour when the owner was in the shower. It happened at about 5 p.m. The neighbor watched part of it without knowing what was occcurring. What happened is a tow truck pulled up in front and then they proceded to cut everything, unbolted the tranning an motor mounts and out in came with the help of the tow truck winch. Sometimes it is easy to steal something in plain site of everyone. No one expects it and it just doesn't register what is going on.

Now for the younguns here that sounds like a feat of some sort. But in those days it would have been fairly easy for someone who knows what they are doing. I personally pulled the engine out of a 73 Toyota and had the new one in the car in just over 3 hours. Today it would take me 3 hours to read the instructions on how to do it.

Actually I would think that the horn would not sound if the thieves have any concept of their trade.

Hi Everyone,

I lost my Grey 2006 Infiniti G35x last night sometime. It looks like the thieves broke the back right small window, opened the door, reached through the unlocked the other doors, popped the hood, disabled the battery and alarm, then they did something to the gear shift so they could move the car to a more private location for the rest of the stripping.

Once they had it in a secluded spot, they took the front end, radiator, hood, back tail lights, back bumper, driver side airbag and a set of golf clubs out of the back. So if anyone is having that type of work done to their Infiniti or sees any of those types of parts, please let me know.

Thanks,

Tim

Check this thread. You may want to contact the Officer that made the post. They are having a problem with that in the Fairfax area. It may now be spilling over to the Alexandria area.

Sorry to hear about your loss.
