check around the injectors, sniff around them to make sure they arnt leaking. also, clean the MAF, do an overall tune-up if your up to it and one hasnt been done in a while.

(i am assuming its a 240?)

yeah, i have an SOHC too, i had to replace all 4 of my injectors when i bought the car. look around the base of the injectors were they meet the intake manifold, if it is wet or smells of fuel, start by replacing the seals. if that doesnt work, the injector itself may be leaking, and any fuel leak should be fixed ASAP, as it poses a very big fire hazard, especially with all those electrical connections around it.

if its the exhaust, then it may just be running rich, although exhaust *usually* smells like burned gas if its rich rather then raw gas. give it a good check, and the coolant temp sensor is also a good thing to check if you have a multi-meter handy because it can really mess with your car if its bad since it is responsible for enriching the mixure when c old.

A quick way to check injectors is just to give them a wiggle when the car is running. If the car sputters or does something funny, it's the injector. I had to replace 2 of them when I bought my 240.

also, check igntion and valve timing. jumped time will sometimes act just like that. low fuel pressure will too.

pump going out will do it but a restriction or bad regulator could also be the culprit. pump is the most common. check the pressure if you are able otherwise just time it to see how much of a 1 liter soda bottle she fills up in one key cycle.

i will try to get a pic asap. in the meantime, its on the intake manifold in the front. it has a yellow(usually) connector and has two wires. it is right next to the one wire coolant sensor that just runs the temp gauge.

I am finally in nor cal and saw my friends 240sx. I will be trying these few things. I saw in that other post about the oil smell in the oil.

Fix the running rich part first. Its not injectors becuase i shook them all no studder or anything. They are solid injectors. Going to run a fuel pressure and compression test sometime this week.

Then do the normal maintaince. Thanks a lot guys i'll keep you updated on what happens
