Ok so my boy is supposed to be getting, well trading his 240 for another 240 with a sr in it but it wont idle properly. It has a sr maf which I think is the problem. I think maybe the maf is bad because it wont idle higher than about 300-400rpm and then will die. So we are going to put a ka24e maf on it and see if it fixes it. So I really wanna know if you guys have any other suggestions. I havent run a diagnostics on the ecu yet so I'll give that a try and see if its throwing any codes.

Ok wired up ka24e maf and now it will idle at 500rpm and sometimes die (?). Im gonna replace the hose to recirculatory valve tomorrow as it is kind rigged together right now. The person who owned this really focked things up.

Check the IACV, back out the idle screw almost all the way to see if you can get the idle to run up high enough.

Try unplugging the MAF and starting the car. If it starts and idles smooth then you have a bad MAF. It should rev limit you to about 2000 RPM.

Test the TPS voltage. Adjust as necessary.

Check for leaks in the piping, and other vacuum leaks. Make sure the BOV is a closed system if it is stock, if it isn't then you need to remove it and block it off or close the loop.

Set the ignition timing (15 BTDC - 2nd mark from right). Might have to pull the CAS if you can't get it to straighten out.
