My buddy from work just purchased an immaculate 1990 300zx. It has 45k miles on it, and not a scratch to be seen. It's maroon in color, t-tops, and an automatic transmission. It runs beautiful and looks even better. Soon he'll be a member of NICO and will post pictures of his car. He traded in his 98 monte carlo LS with 110K miles for this and paid $4500 on top for it.

Wow, seems like he got ripped a bit on the trade, but a good trade anyway. Looking foreward to pics!

well it was a Monte Carlo--which was a cheap, fwd travesty anyway made to cash off of nascar fans, i'm sure kbb wasn't worth more than $8-10k at the most. Besides Z32's (depending on year/trim) can go $15k+ with low miles like that--considering the car was close to $39k when it was new.

was this a private party trade i'm assuming?

edit: if so, who the hell would get rid of a Z for a Monte Carlo? Unless they were looking to get $ to get another Z...like a 350z or a z32 TT

well, he only got 1200 for the trade in on the car. so, he paid 5700.

47K is low miles on a 1990 300zx.

Should be a great car!

Can't wait to see pics.

so this wasn't private party then?

because the trade-in value for the monte carlo at a dealer is right about $2k. So that sounds about right, i don't think he got ripped off on the price.

I'd say he got a dang good deal on it. It was through a dealer here in iowa.

actually, he did get a bra with the car. I'll have him take pics with both it on and off. I actually like the car with the bra on.

the car had to have been garaged its entire life. The paint is original and looks brand new. I've never seen a car in such great condition considering the year. I guess an older lady owned it. She was high up in IBM.
