So my friend backed his truck into my rear quarter panel and scratched my bumper up a little. I've already had the bumper repainted very poorly so they said it would be best to buy a new bumper. I will probably get the Extreme Dimensions rear, but would it look weird to just have an aftermarket bumper and leave the side skirts and front bumper stock?? Also I have the choice of replacing the whole rear quarter panel but that would mean they would have to cut into my car ect. Or I could just keep the rear quarter panel and have it fixed up. Both options are pretty much the same price. Any thoughts of what I should do??

I suppose he's going to pay for your repair no? I would have the rear quarter repaired and put that extra money and get the body kit, coils and rims.

Considering that it's your friend, I say getting extra money from him to buy other mods is not cool.

I would, however, say he should at least pay for a reputable shop to fix the rear quarter panel. Whether the shop has to fix the panel by mold, or cutting, should be up to them, as long as you've done your research on their quality of work.

Replacing the rear bumper w/ the bumper of your choice seems fair though. On the other hand if you have just that bumper, and no skirts / front, then I'd say why bother, unless you have plans to upgrade them later anyways.

Yeah I'm not getting extra money out of him. It would be cheaper for me to get a new bumper.

I was just asking if It would be better for the shop to cut and weld into my car to replace the rear quarter panel or have them fix it without replacing and cutting into my car. I thought my car would look good with an ED rear bumper but I'm not sure if it would look weird with stock skirts and front bumper..

Have them pull it out n not cut it if you have the choice. Reason being is if they dont do it right you are likely to develop rust spots down the road plus possibly weakening of the strength of the body in that area. Are they guaranteeing the work for life??? They should! I had something similar to that happen to me, they pulled out the quarter panel and it looks new. F-ing insurance tried telling me i didn't need a new bumper and didn't have the body shop do that. I was out of the country but when i came back and looked at it I saw a crease in it, took it back next day and told them to replace it, a car is supposed to look pre-accident after going to the body shop and there's no way I would accept that. Also, if the car is new enough tell them to use OEM bumper, otherwise they'll try to use a aftermarket bumper cuz it's cheaper.

Well here I got two quotes. I got one quote from a newer more professional looking business. They said they would cut out the rear quarter panel and replace it, buy an oem bumper or an aftermarket Extreme dimensions bumper(the one I want), and it would be cheaper than the other place.

The second quote is from a business that has been here for a long time now. They said the rear quarter panel doesn't need to be replaced and that they could pull it out, they would buy the bumper of my choice (ED), and they would also get rid of a door ding for me for free. This place cost about $100.00 more.

Which place should I go with?

it's up to you. Do you want to have the work done by someone who is established or someone new? Including free repair of a door ding helps offset the cost difference and for only a 100 bucks more that isn't a bad deal. but then again, your not paying.

Got rear ended last year and went with the ED rear in place of the stock one. Already had a few other mods though so it's up to you. Would be a good start though.

Well the only mods I plan to do for now are Eibachs and Rims. I'm not sure but I think my car will look alright with just the ED bumper. I was also thinking that if it is to "extreme", then I would go with the IMP rear bumper.(there aren't very many bumpers for the 2010 AC). Do you have a thread with pics of your ED bumper or could you post pics of it on here?

You don't understand. I can either pull it out (which is what I think I want to do) or get a new quarter panel which will require them to cut into my car.
