so last night i was at my friends house, there was some cars in the driveway, and some on the curb. mine was sideways up along the driveway, and the person in front of it wasnt paying attention and backed right into the drivers door....

theres no dents, or scratches, just a little bit of paint from the other car that i can probably take off with my finger, but now the door doesnt open at all, from the inside or the outside

i would take the door panel off and see what broke or disconnected, but its kinda hard to do that with the door still on the car...

anybody ever had anything like this happen? ive heard when s13s get hit from the side, the doors dont open.. but i didnt think a little love tap would do it

Probably knocked the connecting rod off, or broke the plastic holders that holds it.
Both failed on the kouki at one point, had to get in through the trunk for a whole damn week.
They sell them at most auto stores in packs. It's a b**** to in tho, better find someone with small hands.

I was recently fumbling around in there. I agree, I think it just threw off a connecting rod or plastic pin, you'll have to look at it with the panel off to get a better idea of what's wrong. One day when I got home and parked the car, I pulled my handle and the stress (20yr old clips ftl) snapped the clip, and the way it fell, jammed me in the car. I couldn't open the door from in the inside or the outside because the way the rod fell jammed the lock. I had to take the door panel off (which will be a biatch with the door shut FYI) and then got it fixed an hour or so later with various zip ties. Let me know if you need any information when you look at the inside of the door.

Oops, yea you're going to have to use those car openers that slide through the window to open it. I don't even wanna think about doing that with the door close....

Actually a good idea would be if you have triple AAA let them come out and do it. It's another b*tch and a half trying to open that with it.

well... im pretty confident it will be easy to figure out what to do when the door panel is off, cuz its just a matter off folowing everything and what not, but how did you get the door panel off with the door shut? thats what i want to know

ill cut/rip the panel if i have to, since mines not in the best shape anyways, but i dont have the money for a new one right now and id rather do it without screwing it up if i can

Happens to me sometimes, Ill lock the door from the inside (manual) and ill unlock it to get out later but it wont unlock even though im tugging on the lock back and forth, eventually it will unlock but its a b****! mess around with your lock maybe it got knocked into 'neutral' ?

Prolly different than what is happening to you just came to my mind though

I pulled like a mother on the bottom, with my eyes closed hoping I didn't rip it. Got pretty lucky. I was able to pull the bottom off and slide enough of the top off to get in there. You won't be able to get it completely off because of the screw that up near the front, when it's closed, it's pressed up against the side of the dash.
