Fried Injector Drivers in ECU > Fix or Cause?

I managed to fry one of my Q45 ECU's. It was a early model one that Impul had chipped.

The ecu goes into limp mode as per my old thread here : zer...-crap

I opened it up to have a look and see what the problem was. The only damage I can see is some heat marks around one of the injector drivers. Can these be replaced? What exactly are they? Look like some sort of Cap or something.

What causes this? bad earths on the engine or fuel rail? Just a freak occurance?

I had Nistune installed, but was the standard map with no changes.

I have got another ECU, but I can't really afford to kill them all the time.. I have to get them from the states too, never see them for sale over here.
