Due to a "technical" error made while trying to determine whether my 1995 SE had an electrical problem or a bad battery, I burned out the big fusible link called "FL140A Battery." The link is in the middle of an array of links and fuses in a narrow box on the driver's wheel well. Does anyone know how to replace this fuse? It is not made to snap in and out like other fusible links. I have been able to disassemble the fuse box somewhat but don't see a way to remove the burned out link. The only info Google coughed up was a picture of the part. link to picture

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm not sure, but I will go out to my car in the morning and see how to pull mine out. I'll let you know what I figure out.

Do you think it may be really stuck- like maybe the amperage that caused it to blow, arc'd the metals together?

It looks like it might be bolted in somehow. I actually broke the top piece off trying to pull the fuse out. The fuse box looks like it snaps together somehow but I can't find the trick to open it completely. I got the bottom half of the box snapped off enough to see where a white lead is screwed into the the side of the box just underneath the fusible link. I took that screw/bolt out thinking it was holding the link in place, but it was very short and its removal had no affect on the link. I don't see any evidence of arcing. If I could get the box opened completely I could see how hard it would be to disconnect all of the wires and take the box itself to my mechanic for help. I searched a number of Nissan parts web sites but never found the fuse box. Must be available only from Nissan. Since I did find a site selling the fusible link, I assume it is not a permenant component of the fuse box.
