Fried 02 sensor wire (from harness)

Just like the title says, the wire kissed my turbo outlet, and now the outer layer of wire is charred... Just wondering how to fix it; I would assume cut and splice, but how? theres the outer wire and the inner wire, and theyre not like regular wires, but i would assume i could just twist the outer wires into one wire and then solder that to a regular wire, and the same for the inner wires... Any input is much appreciated!

they make wire like the wire on the harness for the o2..so just cut out the melted part and solder in the new wire or just cut out the melted part and solder the two ends together without new wire..and this time protect it
