Just got back form our first area Nico Meet.

After some preparation and some mass emailing, the meet was set at 7 pm,

I was there early, at 6 pm, as I drove straight from work ( home is opposite direction).

At 7:20 pm no one, excpet me and terry the host (white Z31) were there..

As I was sitting there in the chilly weather, with my Nico cards and stickers and free Soda I had bought and no one showed, I was ready to pack it in and go home.

But alas in the next half hour, 4 cars showed up. Yaay!!.Despite not havong tons of people given it was our first meet and it was a chilly day, I would call it moderatly successful....

The first Louisville meet was only 5 cars, and now the scen is huuuge there. And we had 6

Attendees:Buddy with a S13 and SUPER CLEAN engine bay, he really deserves props for that engine bay, outside a major car show you wont see one that clean.

Jordan with S14 ( green)

Terry with white Z31

Brandon with a grey S13

Myself with the daytona Blue Z33

and finally maximus Nismo with his green S14 ( low miles like 85k or so) w/ BRM exhaust.

Brandon was telling us about some good Baltimore race spots which we will use once the weather improves some.

Fred..

PS: I cant find the cable to upload from my camera members please post up.

Here are the Pics That I took from the meet.

Fred's car is not that slow ....his own words...

Terry has had this for 18 years. Bought it brand new, has put 282,000 miles on it and still loves it. The man only drives Nissans.

My recently BRM'd Zenki, low miles. That's about it.

Buddy with the the sickly clean engine bay. You could eat off this thing. I learned alot from him about engine care.

Brandon is a local cat who was just driving by. Noticed our cars and came over. He said he was afraid at first, but realised we were fanatics when Fred started preaching the word of NICO to him. You should have seen his face when Fred handed him the keys to the Z33 and said, "Get in and start it up." The guy's hands were shaking!

Brandon's S14. The lighting was bad when he got there. Sorry for the dark Pic.

Click these for larger versions.

Fred's Z33 - Here you can see the reason for it not being slow. The man installed a second engine!! Nicely done, understated but performs like a beast.

Buddy's S13 - Like I said, clean enough to eat off.

All Together.

Looking forward to the 29th meet as well. Hope to see more people there.

wish i coulda made it. i gotta figure out wtf is up with my transmission first. got a wicked whirling/clunk type sound whenever the clutch is engaged and its in gear. 4th is the only gear it is semi-quiet in, but it grinds every time i shift to 4th. maybe i could make it to the 29th meet. i dunno though.

nice pics btw. and fred, your car is sick.

I did not show up despite a personal phone call from Fred. Had to work on a fence (wife not too strong and help showed up unannounced) Too late to make the 85 mile trek by the time I was done. Make the 29th meet closer so I can show up with J30 lovin' It was good talking to Fred (Huh..Fred who ? oh..palmerwmd..yeah) Lot of stares for the WMD part..

Yes, I live in Newark and I'm not a leg-humper. (other post) I also spoke to another newark person (nitroneous something something) I have to read up on the ripken stadium meet... Always good to know the locals and don't hesitate to ask if you need something since I have some tools and access to a shop..

You shoulda been there.I got there late and the flash on my digi cam suddenly stopped working, so no pics from me. I was wondering about Terry's car. Thats awesome that he's owned it since new. Leo did a good job of showing my car's 'good' side, haha. And we had a nice ride back down to DC.

I'll try to make it to the meet on the 29th. Looking forward to meeting more local NICO members...

I was really planning on making it to any meet I could. But when I found out about this I was already on my way to chesapeak, va for a toyota event with some friends. I should be at the next somewhat local meet. (the baltimore meet was about 2hours away from me). So keep it up and I'll see you guys eventually!!

So whats up with the whole meet scene, do you guys just meet up and hang out drive around, check out each others cars and whatnot? I love cars and learning about them, I own a nissan, and I'd love to come out with you guys but i dont have a nice little car like you guys, i drive an Xterra, granted it is supercharges with intake, and im looking to do some other mods like smaller a smaller pulley, headers, and exaust. If your looking for more guys in the area to come to these things, just let me know and I'll be tehre.
