Whats up people?! So, I have had my 1990 Nissan 240sx KA Automatic for a year and a half. The motor blew so i decided to swap in a Red Top SR20det, Compression 155! I purchased a front clip and had a Team swap it in. Now, I have some kind of knowledge of what to do now that the motor is in, I just need direction of where to start.

What I think I need:

KEY: # 1 & 2 I have.

#1-4 I think I definitley need to drive it on the street.

The Term upgraded means Performance/ Aftermarket etc.

? means not to sure/

1. Fuel pump (I got a Walbro Fuel pump)

2. Exhaust system (The Stock Downpipe from the KA was welded to the Cat Converter, so the SR Down pipe wouldn't bolt on unless I did some welding work. On the good side, the downpipe that came with the clip was a Nismo 3" downpipe. I got Megan Racings 3" straight pipe catback with OE style muffler and dual tip exhaust)

3. 3" test pipe/ Cat(Do I need to upgrade any skinny O2 Sensors?)

4. Gauge Cluster(240sx 91-94, or JDM? I want to get a JDM Digital cluster with windshield Projector)

5. FMIC6. BOV7. Radiator (Aluminum?)8. Electric Fans (Dual?) 9. Boost Controller/ Timer & Boost Gauge (Gauge Pod for any gauges) 9. Fuel Injectors (550cc+)10. MAF (Z32)11. Fuel Management (Standalone or something else?)12. Pulleys (light weight?)13. T28 upgrade (From S15)14. Headers (?) 15. Camshafts (Intake and manifold) 16. Engine Damper 17. Short shifter 18. Flywheel (upgraded)19. Clutch (Upgraded) 20. ECU (reprogrammed)

Suspension:

21. Coilover Damper22. Strut bars23. Sway Bars24. Camber Kit25. Tension rods 26. LSD27. Welded Differential 28. Brakes29. Calipers30. Crossed drilled rotors 31. Bucket seats32. steering wheel (detachable)33. Turbo elbow outlet34. Piston and piston heads35. Metal Head casket (?) 36. Miscellaneous Tubing37. Roll Cage (?)

I know what I want to put in the car re above. Do you guys have any idea where I should start?, the list above is in no particular order. I am a amateur who always sprays his pants when it comes to Nissan's 240sx/180sx/ Silvia , Don't hate please everybody has to start some where. Thanks.

Seems like you're still a little new to the sr. I would say just swap in the engine and leave it stock for a little bit. You'll be happy with the power.

Next throw a fmic, radiator, and fans inThen suspensionThen start saving for a build if you really wanna rebuild the bottom end, but it gets expensive as you're going to have to pull the engine again, and while you're down there you might as well do the oil pump, timing chain, get the block and head resurfaced, etc...

When i got my SR from the place i planed on having a BAD motor so i saved the money and got the parts to rebuild. Look at everything as a whole!!!!

If you do piston and rods then do a complite motor rebuild IE Cams rocker arm stops, springs and retainers headgasket and then move to the tranmission part. If u do the flywheel and clutch now then u are removing it twice. As far as exaust stock is fine for now. If u get the ECU it will have to be tuned every time u change something like injectors turbo MAF and cam piston size maybe.

I Changed eveything and because everything was out of the car it was alot easyer to get some of the things changed as far a brake lines and clutch lines.

Gettin it running...... Now thats another story lol

I have no idea wtf is up with you're number system. But I'm going to agree with positron, go stock then rebuild.

As it was stated already, you seem to not have too much knowledge with SR's and what you've posted seems a little too much for someone with little experience on of this motor. Doesn't seem like you really know what you're getting into.

Slow it down, since you already have the engine in just go all stock and live with it for a bit believe me its fun enough just stock. Once you get comfortable with the SR and start reading up ALOT of information about all the things you want, then go ahead and do it.

You basically want to go sky diving for the first time without taking any classes and just want us to give you pointers on it lol.

You live in socal anyways, theirs SR's every where, and parts for it all over. 1 step at a time

I have already planned to run the engine stock in order to get a feel for the engine to adapt a driving style that best suits the engine and suspension set up, that way I can determine what is best to go with next. The parts I have listed re above I am going to do gradually.

The only thing that is going on the car right now so I can drive it on the street is exhaust, which I have.

I am upgrading the fuel pump due to the fact that the one I have on now is unreliable. I prefer A/C, so there are parts being customized for that. Due to the A/C setup the fan cover wont fit unless I do some fabrications to it, which is no biggie. I will eventually get a Radiator and Electric fans.

As for Power increase, Not to sure what I would want to due first, but that's further up the road. I may be new to the engine upgrade but I am not naive to do too much at once, that would destroy my engine due to lack of experience and knowledge.

In conclusion, I want a powerful ride that can handle drifting and highway use. Power without the loss of comfort, reliable and stealthy. I want a sleeper look to it. Thanks for the posts.
