So my buddy and I rebuilt his motor with some aftermarket parts and it has good compression all, the way across the board at 160 psi. However it does not idle or rev. I can hold the throttle wide open and it doesn't rev the engine. I also have to hold the throttle almost wide open to get it to stay running. Is it possible to have a cam gear off a tooth but still compression test with good results? We also checked fuel pressure witch according to the electronic gauge is at 45 (I know, it is high but would cause this).and we have given it alternative fuel when its running to see if its fuel related with no change. Also, if I remember right all coils ohm out within spec. Any ideas/comments..... Bring it on!

That's kinda what I was thinking was one of the cams is off, ill check that out. Just wasn't sure about the compression test.

you could still get good numbers if the valve is opening and closing early.
