The slider which switches between fresh and recirculated air on the environmental controls for my 2009 HB Versa is stuck in recirculate mode. It can move about half an inch before it feels like it's binding.

I think this mechanism is called the "intake door lever". Is that right?

Does anyone know where in the dash the intake door is located?

How much disassembly of the dash would there be to get at it?

Has anyone had this problem before?

Pry the top dash panel off. It is the panel with the 2 vents. Once it is off, remove the 2 screws holding the centre dash trim in place. Remove the centre dash trim but don't unplug the Air Bag light, just push it out of the dash trim. You can disconnect the hazard lights. Below the heater controls, there is a trim piece that sits at a 45 degree angle. It is held on by clips. Pry that off by pushing it from the top down. You can reach it now that the centre dash trim is removed. Once that piece is off, look below. There are 2 screws that hold the heater controls dash trim in place. Remove those and take off the trim. You now have access to your controls and the levers that control the circulation.
