Just got home from the body shop, the guy who did my car called me to come check it out because he just finished painting it. I am a little bit worried because it looks a little bit reddish but then it is surrounded by several 500w lamps(every metal flake is activated so to speak) so it should look much better when he drops it off at my house tomorrow. Anywho, the color is Daytona Violet Metallic, which is BMW color code 283.

They did a fantastic job especially considering that I wrecked the front end and there were numerous dents(literally hundreds from hail on the roof alone) including a big one right behind the passengers door. It took forever but the attention to detail made it come out gorgeous.

This is when I first brought her home, clear deteriorating etc. and look at that nasty roof:

Then the aftermath of the wreck:

Finally, here she is in the booth this evening:

Going on after she gets home: custom headlights by me, Zeal Function B6 coilovers, Kosei K3 wheels in Emery Gold w/Nitto Neo Gens, Kazama RUCA's, Nismo thermostat, timing system rebuild, new water pump, new battery, oil pump rebuild, SPL aluminum subframe bushings, DIF fan controller, and so on and so forth...

Well like I said the red isn't quite right, either it won't show when it's in normal lighting or it's getting resprayed. It's should end up being a deep purple that goes to a medium purple when the flake kicks in.

Here are the other pics I took tonight(BTW these are all 1.3mgp cell pics but I'll out the Sony tomorrow)

I like it. I'm sure it'll look 10x better outside. Cell phone pics really don't do justice. How much did the paintjob run you? I should be getting mine painted within the next month.

Not just your monitor but too add to that there are some VERY bright worklights in that booth so the metal flake is showing full force and then some. Iunno if the paint being fresh has any affect too...?

Thanks, I definitely need the comforting words since I'm kinda nervous about seeing it tomorrow. Well a hood, fender, bumper cover, all of the straightening, frame pulling, dent pulling, hail repair, repair from misplaced jacks by a previous owner, and all the bondo/prime, plus a new windshield(yet to go in), and the paint ran me about $1800. A great deal in my opinion since it was in such bad shape. I know my Mom's hail repair was a couple thousand(included respray). It was such a good deal because I am a friend of their nephew and I brought my Mom's business which was an insurance job, plus a discount for it taking so long and for the headlights being irreparable(going custom anyways).

No, I didn't want 18's so i went with the 17x7(I have them already). I know they aren't a great offset but they are primarily for until i go 5-lug. When I do that i plan on getting Wedsport SA-90's in Bronze. But the k3's are very pretty in my opinion.

VERY BAD, that is what absorbs a lot of the impact in a frontal crash. You most definitely need to get one...plus it does hold up your bumper cover.

Thanks too, paint is nice but make sure you do it after reliability etc.

Not Bomex, Xenon. Thanks for all the comments everyone, hopefully you share my love for the final color.

Anywho, it turned out way better in the sunlight. I got my wheels on but I still have to replace the bushings and collars on the rear coilovers though so I haven't put any of them on yet, hopefully tomorrow or the next day.

Man that color choice with body and wheels looks great. Did you paint the car yourself. Not trying to down you or anything but the paint would look amazing with a good sand and buff. Great looking car though. looking forward to updates. Interior maybe??
