well motor is up and running after being freshly rebuilt (see link in sig) and this is what the oil looks like after 20 miles of driving. i am following the break in process of this guy :http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htmwhich has been discussed many times to be good and bad. i guess i will find out. the motor is running great. idles good and a/f is at around 11.5 at WOT. only problem i have is the open BOV. might have to recirc it soon. heres the oil:

On a freshly built engine, I'm told this is normal. You need to get a magnetized oil drain plug to collect the fine metal bits. I hear this metal dust comes from the rings breaking themselves in amongst other things. I've also heard of people putting strong magnets around thier oil filters to help collect the bits.

yeah you should get a oil drain plug magnet cause you still don't want the metal shavings around.....but they say when you buy a new car, to run it hard for the first miles so that the ecu can adapt and give you few more hp:).

i hope it does as well. spent to much money for it not to i will do a compression test tomorrow and get a base setting for what my comp will be at. then check it again after the full break-in period.
