I came across this in the 240SX.org faq page its under faster shifting with an auto. What you do is disconnect the gray connector that is located on the drivers side right by the intake. Check the page for a full description. It makes driving an auto more fun. Even though autos suck. It will just have to bide my time until the swap.

I forgot to say what your doing. It has no downside, all your doing is disconecting the regutation of transmission fluid. It takes away the smooth shifts and will kick in gear faster. But it isn't uncomfortable. Its just better.:D

I've never read it because it doesn't apply to me... but this topic has been discussed at length, and I seem to remember several people saying that it was a BAD idea. To do it for a day or two it won't hurt the transmission.. but if you run it like that for any significant amount of time, it will have adverse affects in the long run... or so I recall.

Not only that, but overall, it doesn't even make it quicker. I use to have a '92 Auto Coupe and I took it on a 1/8 track and tested it out. I actually ran a faster time with it plugged in as normal. Sure, it makes it feel like its shifting faster, but overall.....its the same.

I didn't know this was discussed before, sorry should have used the search. Anyway I just like the harder shifts also it makes it a bit more fun. I plan to swap very soon so I am not to concerned about the transmission or the motor. Don't get me wrong I take care of the car and don't beat on the motor, but if something happens then I will just have to swap sooner. And thats always better.:D
