Hi all! Yet another noob on the site. I own a 97 hardbody and have just purchased my first 89 240. I was browsing threw the site looking for things to do to my 240 when i cam across someone who had written that if you remove the AIV, the 2nd butterflys in the throttle bodies, Remove the EGR and throttle body coolant bypass you can score some free power on the 240 motor. I know every one says the 240's have truck motors in them so my question to all that care is will that stuff work on my truck? And if not is there anything else i can do to get a little more power out of her??? Any info is greatly appreciated.

Hey Rob, welcome aboard!

Save yourself dome work, the butterflies don't do much (swirl control).

EGR removal will help a bit, not much tho.

TB coolant lines, not noticeable either.

Header, exhaust, and intake are your first order of business. Maybe a cam swap, and some rear gears - wake that Hardbody RIGHT up.

I'll let the truck experts chime in for some more details....
