While i was working on my 90 hatch. I noticed the two non-functional vents in the front bumper. This was only a feature on the 89-90 pignoses, so if you have a 91+ then this post isn't for you. But for those of you who are pignose lovers and would like to get some extra air on your radiatior, give this a try. The two plastic vents are held in by double sided tape and two screw like fasteners. I have no patience so i just ripped them out gorilla style. Underneath those there is solid bumper material. just follow the outline of the hole and cut through it. I lack the proper tools so mine looks like s*** but if you have a sawzall or a dremel, you can make it look nice and it only takes a few minutes. Sorry if this has already been posted but I thought i would share some info as i build up my ghetto racer.

I've got a '91, but thanks for posting this! I'm sure it'll help some people out.

not sure if they are actually supposed to look like vents, but they are definitely a sad attempt at a look-a-like grill. But yeah, cut em out, nothing wrong with a little extra flow. you could also take out your turn signals, since those are precut holes :P

Well, they arent vents, they are more like the fake scoopery found on today's mustangs. Sad, really, that car makers would rather attach plastic to make it look like a vent than stamp a hole in the plastic and make it a real vent.
