I think it would be cool to get a list going of all the (decent) free games people have discovered out there. Obviously most of these will be for the PC, but feel free to mention any PSP or DS homebrew or whatever else.

I'll start it off with a few. I'm sure I'll remember some more later on.

Rigs of RodsI think I posted about this in Gen chat some time back. It's a truck (big rig) sim that has grown a lot recently. It uses OGRE for it's graphics but it's most interesting feature is the soft-body physics engine that makes all vehicles dynamically deformable in real time. The latest version has boats, cars, trucks, and airplanes.Grab it here: http://rigsofrods.blogspot.com/

Another fun one I discovered recently is called Egoboo.Egoboo is an isometric dungeon crawler with RPG elements. It has a pretty unique control scheme that gives it a much different feel than other games of the same style. It also allows up to 4 people to play simultaneously on a single computer (assuming you have enough input devices). If I had to compare it to any more well-known titles, I'd say it plays a bit like the Gauntlet games.Egoboo is also open-source and is very customizable by simply editing text files.Get it here: http://zippy-egoboo.sourceforge.net/

Live For Speed isnt exactly free, but the demo with no time restriction is free. Its an online racing sim, with good physics, and no TCS or any of that B.S.

Online play is REALLY fun, and the demo is worth trying. If you like Enthusia, Forza, or Gran Turismo, you would love this game.

Get the demo/read info about it here: http://www.liveforspeed.net

I made a topic about this is the gaming section, but its fallen down. Feel free to comment it or bump it? Its an awsome game, and we need to start a NICO team. < that would be cool

Oh man don't get me started... My friends and I got so into it we created a list of all the upgrades, their costs, their range and their damage. Yes, we felt nerdy to say the least.

I found out on my own that the cannons fire fastest when they are placed head-on with the oncoming dots. In the beginning stages I place a "nature" cannon at the end of the first turn and upgrade it, and place another nature cannon at the end of the second turn. The important thing is to fully upgrade one cannon at a time. I choose to stick to nature cannons because their final damage is greater than the other cannons and its cheaper than the slow, super expensive flower cannon(which is impossible to get fully upgraded.)Just keep on buying nature cannons and upgrading them, lining them up behind one another at the ends of long corridors.

This game wasted so much of my time it's not even funny. I got to level 84, but only after reading other people's strategies, which were somewhat like mine, just more refined.

The problem with this game is that it's unbeatable. The enemy's level increases exponentially while your money only increases linearly.

My friend found a better version of the game here: http://novelconcepts.co.uk/FlashElementTD/

You can buy, sell, upgrade, and even increase the rate at which you gain interest on your money!

Thats my strategy too.. ends of long corridors. But you just gave me a whole new idea... I never thought to put them behind each other on the corridors!

I also had six in the upper middle area so they cover a lot of area. Still, the one thing that pisses me off is that its unbeatable unlike the other one I posted. But stick with it and when you hit the inevitable "wall" you'll like the other game even more.

There seems to be another glitch in the game where you can stack your towers on each other (so you can fit them into smaller spaces while still having them fire head-on) Place your tower wherever you want then place a second tower somewhere else. The third can be stacked onto the first, the fourth can be stacked onto the second, etc.... People reported that they got to level 87 with this method, but I'm not sure if it's legit.

Dammit...now you got me wanting to play just to try out this strategy.
