man, thanks!! But does anyone know why I can't jump around in the movie? I tried a few video players but I can only watch it straight, I can't move forward or backward in the footage. i have tried windows media player 9, zoom player, and winamp. zoom and winamp just freeze when I move the slider and I have to start the movie over, windows player just snaps the slider back to the current position. Is this file just too big to move around in? But this is better than nothing.

its the way the video is encoded. you must re-encode it in order to move around in the movie.

This is done in order to have a smaller file so re-encoding it will make the file somewhat bigger.

Here is a free encoder to re-encode files:http://www.tmpgenc.net/

it real easy to use...just read up a little in the readme if your confused.

are you all using the MP 10 beta or what version do you use? If you are using 9 did you download some additional codecs or something? I have version 9.00.00.3250

hmm. I havn't figured this out yet. I downloaded MP 10, and got all the codecs from microsoft's site and still nothing. That program is really neat, but it would make the file like 600+ MB. Does anyone know which codec it needs?

I'm using DivX Player and it works wonderfully... Thanks for the link. I guess it's time to watch it over and over and over and over and over until it becomes second nature...:-)

I tried Divx Player earlier but forgot to mention it. This only happens with one other file on my computer which is a .wmv also. I just guess I missed out on a codec upgrade somewhere.
