ut teh half life series are just shooters. In Fallout you are immersed in an adventure and have the freedom to walk to talk to shoot who you feel like. This makes it possible to play the game as if it was <you> making all descisons. No linear Missaon and oyu can come back to the same place as often as you wish.

Also in fallout 1 and 2 ( not FO Tactics which is a shooter) you have to <think> to be successful.

What I like about them is that they're hard games. I mean, Fallout 2 was a lot of fun but a PITA to beat. :)

The best way to get the GardenofEdenCreationKit (tm), is to just act like you really would if you were in that world to trty to find it.

The time requirement for that part is a bit hard as people are starving behind you and you have only 3-5 months until they all die from starvation.

And the quest after that is of course even more interesting solving that great evil.

All the Armor, Ammo and big guns you eventually pick up, give you the fire power of a small Army.Of course you will need it, just to successfully cross the wasteland, searching thru dead bunkers for clues and networks to point you were to find your kidnapped tribe..

Nick: Did you ever get thru to talk to the enclave guard over PoseidoNet from the Nuclear Reactor Control Station?

When you tried to fix the gouhls Nuclear Reactor?Or did you just blow it up, like Vault City wanted you to?

Kinda eerie, if you see it early in the game.

Fred...:)

A question or few about Fallout. I prefer thinking games over shoot-em-up - but, due to lack of time, I have not been doing much recently. Last games I bought and played were Myst and 7th Guest ... when they first came out ... so I am dated! :)

So ... is Fallout a thinking game? Where you can pick up after some breaks? Or is a shoot-em-up (and waste the time playing) game? Reason I ask is I do find myself travelling a bit, and it would be good to have some diversions on the flights!

Fallout and Fallout 2 are awesome games. The beauty is, you can beat them via shoot 'em up, or actually think you're way through it. Either way it is very challenging and a ton of fun. I played through Fallout 2 at least 4 times. The opening movie is the best intro to a game ever, btw.
