Frankencooler?

Has anyone here modified or used an intercooler from a different vehicle for their SR set-up?

i havent but its been done, its no problem just have to fab up mounting and pipes.

i just fabbed up some piping and some mount brackets, wasnt hard atall

That's what I was planning on running, a stock evo ic. How hard was it getting the fab work done? What hp are you pushing, if you don't mind me asking?

I didnt think it was very hard at all, I did it all myself except the welding on the charge pipes. I duno what power im at with 12psi I got a 13.9 in the quarter with a crap 2.29 60' think it was 104mph trap that was with a clutch the was slipping a little. Id guess 270 or so

I did have an evo intercooler on my sr20 but it's been stolen so i have an hks intercooler

its not a pissing contest, this forum is a place to exchange knowledge and learn. im not an expert but ,y friend dynoed at 277 at 15 psi ( highest ive seen on a stock turbo) and ran just over a 12.5 in the 1/4. i'm just saying i dont think a car w/ a difference of 7 hp would run 1.5 seconds slower
