Until recently, no one made a short 14" frameless wiper blade that fit the passenger side wiper on the Rogue.

Well finally Wal-Mart in Canada is now carrying a 14" version of the ViewMax+ frameless wipers. (Similar to Rain-X Latitude, Motomaster Reflex, etc). I have picked up a set for the winter as ice & snow do not impair the operation of the wiper unlike the OEM version.

FYI: Driver wiper = 26", passenger wiper = 14"

I am not sure if this wiper is available in the the US as it is imported to Canada for Wal-Mart by CAP automotive products... a Korean wiper mfg. If anyone finds this in US Wal-Mart stores, please share.

Isn't the right side wiper 16"? I could have sworn it was...if so you can buy the Bosch Icon's - best wipers out there!

The OEM ones are 14" long. You can fit a 15" long one if you want, no problem, there is space.

Right now, I even have a 16" long one, but with a 16" you will have to check the clearance as not everyone will fit (the skinny-cheap (WM) one will, the more robust and therefore larger one won't).I will have to bend the wiper arm a bit or offset it to make the 16" winter wiper fit.

I think there is already another thread about wipers here (problem with the A pillar and the visibility).

Are the stock wipers that bad that I should really consider the ViewMax+ frameless wipers? I have yet to drive the Rogue in any snow/ice conditions.

x2, I have yet to drive in anyting but rain...is there enough resistance/tension on the wiper to clear snow/ice at highway speeds?

The problem lies with the open suspension frame design of the OEM wiper. It tends to get jammed full of snow, once this happens, the wiper does not contact the windshield properly leaving large streaks. Frameless wipers do not have this problem.

Wipers are a wear item. Pollution, dirt, UV, oil attack the rubber, and normal use wears the edge out to the point it starts to streak. Typically they need to be replaced once, or in my case, twice per year. I just swap to the frameless ones for better winter performance. During the summer, I purchase wiper blade refills for the OEM wipers (includes the rubber edge and 2 reinforcing metal strips) from the Nissan dealer and replace them. Much cheaper than buying the entire wiper... and cheaper than buying 2 sets of frameless wipers per year.

BTW, I had the OEM wipers for 8 months and 20,000+ miles. They are completely worn out and streak like crazy so I just replaced them.

How long is the rear wiper blade, and how do Bosch Evolution compare to Bosch ICON? I'm having trouble finding the ICON in either 14" or 15" lengths.

I think it is 13" long but I will have to check on the car to be sure.It seems to be a pain to change it but it is less subject to debris and others stuff, so you won't have to change it as often as the front ones.

As Philip said, with icy rain or snow, it accumulates in the blades and "block" them in position. They can no longer follow the curvature of the windshield and leave places where the snow/water is not removed. You may have to stop on the side of the road to smash them to remove the ice accumulated (happened to me in the past).

Now, you have a great choice of frameless wipers. They are low profile so they should be also less subject to be lifted by high winds.I found Michelin ones at Costco for about 12-13 CAD$ each.

I just purchased a set of Bosch ICON frameless blades for my Rogue.

The Bosch website part finder thingie claims the proper blades for the Rogue SL are the 428A on the driver's side (yes...28"!!) and the 416A (16") on the passenger side.

So that's what I ordered and, believe it or not, they work. They pretty much cover the windshield top to bottom without clearance issues...much more so than the smaller factory blades.

When off, the end of the larger one rests just above the passenger side just fine.

BTW - SWEET wipers.

Thanks! Used those part numbers to order a set online--can't wait for them to come in!

The passenger side is 14". The only aftermarket newer-style beam blade I've found is the 'Trico NeoForm Beam Blade'. They come in the rare 14" as well as the 26" for the drivers side. You can find them online.

I originally got the viewmax frameless wiper blades from Wal Mart. They worked well for the first couple of weeks but then the drivers side started to streak.

Having read some previous posts with some people recommending the Michelin's from costco, I gave them a try and to my surprise, they perform much better in my experience despite being only $12

My rear wiper is starting to streak and I'm trying to look for some information on how to change it. There has been a thread that mentions the changing of rear wiper blade, but not much emphasis on HOW to change it some pictures would be nice

The link to the wiper changing thread in the Versa forum has broken. It had a great write up but I am now unable to find it. I will see if I can dig it up again.

You can purchase just the insert, Nissan part #28795-CT00B

The old wiper insert can simply be 'slid' out as follows:

Thanks Philipa, you're a great help as always.

So simply just pop off the old one and slide the new one in?

So how did you order them on the Bosch website? I didn't see an ordering option. It just listed local dealers in the Des Moines area....none of which exist.

I've been using PIAA Super Silicones and have been very happy with them. The 95030 insert works for the rear wiper but requires some cutting of the silicone to make it fit. I didn't think it was a big deal but the stock wiper blade would be a lot easier to deal with.

I checked the size chart at the Bosch website...but I ordered the blades from Amazon.

(BTW - Four months later, still happy with them.)

You can get the NeoForms (14" & 26" - the exact mfg recommended sizes) at wipers123. Trico is also running a $15 rebate right now thru 5/15/10. They work great...mine are about 8-10 months old and just went thru a wisconsin winter...should get a few more months out of them.

My rear wiper was streaking even after I had it replaced(the guy at the dealership put it on free of charge). When I went back this week for an oil change and asked about it, he said that sometimes there is a residue build up. He wiped it off with a razor blade(startled me at first, i never would have taken a razor blade to my windshield) and the problem was solved! Which helped bunches because I drove home tonight in pouring rain, both my bosch icons on the front and my rear wiper worked wonderfully. I can say that I am very very glad that I have fog lights! Without them I would not have known where my lane was. I love storms here in Texas, but only if I don't have to drive in them, it gets kinda scary sometimes.

I just replaced my Icons with the Trico NeoForm frameless blades. Trico, as noted previously, makes the elusive 14" size, so you don't need to oversize like you do with the Bosch Icons. Reviews I read about them online were favorable, and as it turns out, I didn't even need to go online to get them.

The Trico web site listed my local NAPA store in their "where to buy" locator. Turns out NAPA sells the Trico NeoForms under their own house brand (as NAPA NeoForm), and my local NAPA store actually had the 14" in stock, whereas other local stores noted in the locator didn't go smaller than 16".

That's the only place I've been able to find a frameless blade in store locally (our Walmarts don't carry the ones noted previously in the thread), so hey, if you've had problems finding them, give NAPA a shot. :)

Hi members,

Would like to share my experience for Rogue 2008,

I replaced both front wipers with "Costco" Michelin Stealth (frame less). Driver side: 26". Passenger side: 16".

I was aware both are much longer than the original ones: 24" and 14"?

Both wipers have never touched each other. At resting position, the passenger-side wiper-tip is very close(3-4 mm) to the windshield right edge. However, after over 3 months, no sign that this tip hits the right edge.

These wipers perform very well. Besides, because they are longer, they clean larger area of my windshield.

Thanks

The original size is 26" and 14" for driver side and passenger side
I bought a pair of PIAA Forza Hybrid Silicone Wiper, don't remember where I ordered the 14" one as PIAA website does not have it, but somehow I manage to get one
