Liviing in upstate ny frames on these are hard to come by that are not roted. I have lucked out and found one frame rail for teh passenger side that was good and replaced that a few months ago. Now the driver side needs minor patchin

I have noticed that the frames on the older trucks are in better shape. I found a couple from the late 80's at the junk yard that were in great shape. If you see any from like 90 and up there garbage. Did they make them out of different metals in the 90's? My main question is Will frame rails from and 88 or something like that work on a 93. I didn't see much of a difference But id just liek some more info.

My suggestion... Tube frame with por15... From what I know, all HB frames are the same...

They are pretty much the same for all HBs, and even the D22s (1st gen Frontiers) are very similar.

That said, you should trek out to the southwest and hit the yards for a high mileage truck that's pretty much used up. The frames wll be rock solid with no rust at all. Might be worth it to ship one home.

The trouble with the frames is that they're boxed (good for strength, but bad for collecting road salt, ice, and other gunk and rotting from the inside out).

Additional drain holes might help, and I've also heard of some guys going into the holes on the frame and using that expanding foam insulation to fill the voids and keep that gunk out of the inside of the frame. Another option is to coat the inside of the frame iwth as much oil and grease as you can get to stay in there for further corrosion protection.

I was thinking of airtighting a frame, and scavenging the air out.

Depending on where you live some metal shops can strip and dunk it in a tank with non corrosive coating so inside gets coated for rust proofing.
