have any of you guys have any frame damage before? i have gotton into an accident and bented my fender frame on my passenger side, my center core is slanted a little back to my engine. and my battery was push back also my radiater crack somewhere (i wasnt able to find the crack). after i gotton into the accident my car was still able to drive home but then my fan is not spinning. i was wondering if it is still gonna be safe if i was to cut the bent peice off and weld it back to a new piece? i hope this is enough info on my car. i will post up some pix when i have time. thankz

which fan is not spinning? the one behind your radiator, if stock, shoudl be spinning at all time since it is a clutch fan. if it is the one in front of the AC condensor, it doesn't turn on all the time.

its always better to get it checked by a professional because where its bent in there might be a lot more damage than you think so i would recommend taking it to a body shop that pulls frames or a frame shop to see what the real damage is

i took it to a body shop and they said it will still be possible to fix but then i am gonna have to cut the frame where it is bent cause even thoe they pull it, it will not be straight. so the guy at the body shop said he will just cut it and weld a whole new piece. he has the front clip straight japan (s-13) in stock so he gave me a price of $700. also i was wondering if he was to do the work, would my car run the same as usual?

it should because everything would be in the right place all the dimensions of the car would be exact or off by a few degrees but just enough for it to run good

eh, it'll never drive the same again. It'll be fine for a daily, but if you plan to make this a project car, I would suggest looking for a different car.

yes...i have unfortunatly expeienced fram damage and the car drives different...it just feels off..goes strait on thw highways, drifts fina either direction, but still feels different. as for replacing that part of the frame...um if its cut and welded, its never going to be strong like it was in the first place. but it'll still work..good luck!

My frame has been tweaked before too. The shop I used charged $225 to get it back to square, but it was barely out of square, I only noticed it cause the caster on my passenger side front wheel was visibly off.

no way! thats the same spot my car has damage, but not nearly as bad as yours! damm man, what happend. when i had the incident with my car i simply hammerd (i think yours will require some major pulling though...just hook it up to a truck and have them go slowly till it at least remebles what it is supossed to look like. then hammer the rest by hand) it out on my own and bought some origin fenders to replace the badly dented metal one. again good luck!

sell the car or part it out and buy yourself another one, it is repairable but its not an expensive car, it is more cost effective to get another one you will be happier down the line. repaired cars, no matter how well repaired, will never be the same as a straight car that has not been in an accident. this is from experience.
