frame colors?

I have a 2008 Nissan Versa SL with the front frame piece where the hood latches into a gray color while the rest of the car is sapphire blue in color. My question is is that how all Versa's are or not?

I contacted Nissan NA and they said to check with my dealer but they say that if it is not the same color and not normal they will have to replace a perfectly good work frame piece with a new one.

I have a few pieces within the engine bay that are gray (and Shannon asked me if I'd had a wreck) ... I don't know why they weren't painted, but it's not just you. I intend to have those parts painted eventually.

Mine's gray too, my guess is that there is some miscommunication between Nissan and the factory as to whether or not they are supposed to be painted.

I'd be leaning towards the side of "yeah, they're supposed to, but the factory forgot to".

I'm leaning towards the side of "if we leave 'em grey we same money on paint and labour . . . and it's plastic anyway".

I'm talking about the metal below the dark plastic cover.

Thanks for all the replies I thought that maybe it was a factory option that could add value to the car in it's later years. like the old radio delete opt.

My metal there is that same color. I guess they just wanted to do it that way

Ya, I shoulda paid better attention.

The metal on mine is still grey and still matches my car . . . and I still think they did it on purpose to be cheap . . . err . . . save money on production costs.
