my car was recently involed in an accident and was pushed into a curb in the left front. i cant seem to get why the left font tire sits back an inch and why the tire is leaning out so two inches is the only thing contacting the road could it just be suspension parts or is the frame bent.

Thanks for the help

Did the front end hit the curb, or just the wheel? If it was just the wheel you probably bent a control arm or something else. Maybe several somethings.

you might have broken your tension rod as well.

Pop the hood and look at the strut tower where the upper strut mount is. If the strut got pushed back you may see damage there, like a twist or distortion in the metal. That would suck, because it would require body work. The other stuff would just be parts.

just the wheel hit the curbnot the body its self

yes the tension rod did break and i had to use a come-along to pull against the piece that the tension rod bracket connects to (i dont kow what its called) to get it to even go into place (the piece that sits right under the radiator)

So after putting the tension rod back in its still 2 inches back right? The transverse link is probably bent back. You may want to take it to a shop that does suspension work, because you'll need to have an alignment done anyway.

The tension rod is attached to the lower radiator support at the front. That is a major structural component of the car. If you had to use excessive force to get it back into place you may want to visit a frame shop and at least have them give it a look over and see if there is any serious damage to it.

All you are really after at this point is to get an estimate for repairs to see how bad it really is. Then with your estimate you can determine what you want to do repair wise. Tell them they are one of 3 shops you are getting estimates from for insurance purposes. That way they will hand you a print out of all you need without bias thinking your gonna run off and do it yourself. If one of the repairs needs to be on the frame straightener your gonna have to at least have a body shop do that and they will put it in the estimate so you will know how much it will cost ya.
