97 q45 non t

have a part throttle loss of power that cleans up when i put some more gas on it. suspect fpcu. already replaced pump. problem

i am having some serious trouble getting the rear deck to come off and specifically the rear brake light. took the seats out no prob.

so if someone could give me the step by step on how to take the deck off i would really appreciate it.

also, if anyone has any knowledge, diagrams, pictures, etc. on how to jump the y33 fpcu i would appreciate it. i looked pretty good through all the posts about the fpcu jump and can only find stuff about the first gen fpcu which has a much smaller plug. my fpcu is huge i thought it was a stereo amp at first and the plug must have 25 wires on it.

thanks in advance

shawn

Are you certain it's not the 2 to 3 shift solenoid?

Not sure your analytic method is sufficient to reach the conclusion you did.

whoa.. no ablsolutely not certain its not that and have never even heard of that problem. so more analysis.

prob does it when the car is warm never cold. runs mean as hell when not fully warmed up. (i always warm it up i when i first start it).

does it in every gear whether the torque converter is locked it fourth or just starting out on the line in first. there is a difference though. when im in a freeway situation and the transmission is locked in fourth it will buck hard at part throttle, but when going slow like when i just leave the stop light it will surge at part throttle.

either way it shows a noticable clean up when i dig into the throttle harder. when going fast the reaction is the unlocking of the converter in fourth, and when going slow the reaction is a downshift.

if you probe me more i can probably give even more detail about the problem. thank you for your time in replying maxnix.

So tell us about your transmission maintenance. Include whether you have installed an auxiliary ATF cooler, please.

If it is always at the same throttle position another possibility is the throttle position sensor. Maybe it's got a dead spot in it. There are many possibilities. I wouldn't personally be focusing on the transmission at this point.

Get the FSM (factory service manual) and do the test procedures for anything that shares those symptoms. You'll need a voltmeter and some know how to dive into this. What's your experience level?

You mean a static drain and partial refill to dilute the remaining contaminated fluid without a pan drop nor filter screen replacement?

I'd say it's a good thing you are near Joe so you don't have to ship the core when you get a remanufactured one.

AZHitman uses European Imports (or something like that) for his more demanding work.

97 and + FPCU are different and already have a resistor in parallel to insure that the pump works to crank Q see drawing in FSM.
