Hey guys....Im looking for a new turbo since my stock t25 has blown oil seals...I want a drop in turbo so from what ive seen two pretty good choices seem to be the forced performance "big 28" and the gt28r. Both are close in cost. From what ive seen the big 28 flows 37lbs/min and the gt28r flows 31lbs/min. How differently do they perform? Both I can make 300 whp with am I right? I want to run stock fueling for a while, so im sure that i can run the stock 6 psi no problem (right?). If anyone knows anything about these setups, let me know! If you can provide reasoning to choose one over the other that would be great too! Thanks!

With the proper mods you can achieve 300 whp at 16 psi + on both turbochargers

300whp is attainable with both turbo's, provided that you've got a good fuel system setup. Running on a stock fuel system wtih either turbo at 7psi will be fine. Even with the s15 turbo being a ball bearing, I myself would run the fp28. I've seen dyno's of some pretty good numbers put out, and if something does go wrong or break, it's rebuildable. The fp28 will increase your underhood temps iirc, but I think it's worth the gain. Just my .02 cents.

the FP Big28 is supposed to be good for a little more power than the GT28R, but not much. it also should spool just a couple hundred rpm earlier. however, the GT28R being BB CHRA, i would imagine the GT28R would have significantly better transient response and such, making it the choice for somebody into attacking the twisties. as an up side, the Big28 is basically identical to stock on the outside, so EVERYTHING bolts up to it.
