I know Nissan has the Maxima which is a Four Door Sports Car (FDSC). Why didn't Infiniti call the Q45 a Four Door Muscle Car?

I know Infiniti wanted to make a sleeper but the new Q45 (There better be one) should be called Four Door Muscle Car. And Nissan/Infiniti if you use this as your new Q45 slogan then I want some money too. I promise I will put all of the money into restoring my car and my education. :)

honestly Im not sure I would call the Q a muscle car, in any year... What the Q did in its time, especially in 1990 was impressive, but not astounding...

I still consider an M5, cadillac CTS-V, or AMG much more of a "muscle car"...

Actually they had a very short lived ad campaing for the Y34 version of the M45, 03' and maybe 04' where they called it a muscle car. There are a few members that bought those and love them, sort of odd looking but seems they escaped the oil burning issues that 02' Q45's experienced.

And I thought the Q engine was cramped. That engine reminds me of this so much:

Q45tech wrote:One team designs the engine and another 5 work on induction system......hopefully they bolt together! For a total engine typically 40-60 and another 50 part time engineers are involved for years.........you know how committees work......then there are the accountants that monitor each team, then the accounts that monitor the accountants. There are engineers who specialize in rods and they may never see the wrist pin guys except every few years at conventions.

then the injector engineers and the injector o ring engineers, and the fuel rail engineers, and the fuel regulator engineers, and the spark plug engineering liason aide [trainee engineer].

When you think about it, it is impossible for one person to know how to do the whole project and if they did 100,000 man hours is 50 years........so 100 guys can work on 2 engines per year.

Then there are all the computer scientist who run the simulations!$25,000,000 per engine in engineering development cost alone. Then multiply by 5 for support staff, prototyping, and final testing then double that for machine modifications........... after that you better sell a MILLION of the ENGINES or you are in trouble as all this adds $250 per engine! Can you imagine that the Q45 2002 engine having sold less than 10,000 world wide has a development cost of $25,000 each!

Hey Wes

"I still consider an M5, cadillac CTS-V, or AMG much more of a "muscle car"..."

You didn't have the Panamera Turbo on your muscle car list? :) :) :)

I prefer:

BMW's Gran Coupe
It's a Two-Door Coupe Hiding Under a "Four-Door Coupe" Roof

As unveiled at the Beijing auto show, it looks like a Mercedes-Benz CLS/Audi A7 competitor, a "four-door sport coupe." However, the Gran Coupe is actually a major hint at the new 2012 6 Series two-door coupe and convertible.

BMW Gran Coupe vs. Audi Sportback vs. Mercedes CLS vs. Porsche Panamera

Without a doubt, BMW Gran Coupe will go head-to-head with the Audi Sportback Concept (the future Audi A7), the Mercedes Benz CLS and the controversial Porsche Panamera.

honestly when I saw the pics i thought it looked like a goofy 911 with 2 extra doors, but once you see it in person its really good looking... just one of those cars that doesnt photograph well i guess... likewise theres lots of cars that photograph much better than they look in real life... :)

Besides, once you sit inside it and feel the fit and finish of everything, you can EASILY forget about any qualms from the exterior. Did I mention its pretty quick?

Just looking at the above pictures, it is the Audi that really appeals to my eye- love the sharp lines.

Maybach 57 Sedan - Weight : 6017 lbs ---Price: $405,500.00---0-60 mph 5.2 sec

Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupé - Weight : 5798 lbs ---Price: $ 412,000---0-60 mph 5.6 sec

I prefer the Rolls....

If it's to do with 0-60...then this will solve that problem:

BMW 135i runs 0-60 in 4.7 seconds --> cost $34,900.

ROFL -- :-)

I think Maybach is more Q car like -- and also like Q owners -- we're not trying to make a huge bling statement with our cars..

Hehehe...

I agree with you that the Q is not a bling statement except for the odd person here and there who feels otherwise  .....

To me it is sad to see a lot of money spent on enhancements that either do nothing or lower the asset's market value.

Nice link from my photobucket but it's not a Q45. Might be a Y32 cima but I'm not sure.
