Oil leaks, leaks in the cab, cracks in the body, broken or missing vacuum lines, you know the usual.82Datsun wrote:lol thanks, i assume i should be looking for rust when i check it out, what else?bundy26 wrote:Good luck.

How would i be able to do a compression test without taking it to a shop or taking it home?captainzeros wrote:A cylinder compression test might be a good idea, the only things that seem to "kill" these trucks are collisions and head gaskets.
I have an '81 auto trans 2wd truck myself (standard cab longbed though) with just a few more miles than that one and I love the hell out of it, all mine's miles are hard miles though, it was a farm truck and lots of those miles were bouncing around in ruts and being backed into fenceposts and the like, it sort of ate my suspension.
Know anyone with a tester? Take a borrow, make the checks and return.82Datsun wrote:How would i be able to do a compression test without taking it to a shop or taking it home?
