Found this in my fuel tank

Good afternoon all. I need your assistance or confirmation on the photo I have attached. I replaced my fuel pump, screen and o-ring the other day and noticed this sitting at the bottom of the tank. I believe it may be a fuel return baffle. I tried looking for it in the Chilton and didn't see anything that mentioned it or had anything come close to what resembles it. So, do you think it is a return line baffle? The car runs fine, sorta but thats another issue, so I am considering just tossing it in the trash. Thank you for your help.

This is for a 91 right? I looked at the schematic on Courtesy Nissan and didn't see it. take a look.

Yeah for a 91. I dont see it there at all either. Odd! I'm sure someone had to see something like this if they were replacing the pump.

Looks like someone replaced the pump before and used a screen from another vehicle/application. The OEM screen is pretty small

Edit: Is that a screen or is it solid plastic? In either case I've had tanks apart on both of my 240's and never saw anything like that I can recall
