I found a 240sx I want, but it's kind of far, and has issues. I have no problem taking a truck out to get it, but I want your opinions! Here's the details:

90 Coupe SEGray/black 5spdFront end damage (Pretty minor, saw pics, and no frame damage)It's in pretty good condition, but I wanted to ask if you guys think $1500 is too much for it, and what I should offer the guy before I drive out there. I'm not planning on paying that much since it's a 500 mile drive, but it's the color, and model I want, and I could save the extra cash to do the s13 front end. Personally I don't think it's worth more than $800, but I want to hear what you guys have to say!!! Wish it was a 91-93 with lsd, that would be nice... but oh well, I'm going to be patient.

Thanks,Charles Weller

How does it run? Is this just a chassis to swap a JDM engine into? I definitely wouldn't give more than 800 for a damaged '90 240. It may not even be worth the time or effort to go that far.

But I really want to see how clean this car is... My understanding it had less than 60k original miles on it. So, if not frame damage, and from the pictures, it looks like it's been well well well taken care of. I think that's why the guy was hoping for $1500.

I see. Can he email you pictures? I'd ask so you can see for yourself. Even if it has been well taken care of, it still has collision damage. Did he mention how it runs?

He e-mailed me pictures, and lots of them. The car runs, but the radiator was cracked, so it overheats. The pictures make it look beautiful, but he still was anal retentive enough to show me all the little blemishes, and everything with the car that was wrong. He said he doesn't know if it had LSD, but i'm sure it doesn't... seeing as it's a 90. I'll try to downsize some of the pics, and post them for ya'll (yeah, I'm from tx).

Thanks,Charles Weller

So, you're going to swap engines I assume? If it's been overheated, especially more than once, the head is probably cracked/warped.

Don't mess with Texas...
