2001 Pathfinder Le

Red, which is a bit rare,

with the front end off the pre-facelifted R50

with painted bumper - which I haven't even seen on the old R50

That red color is apparently the original color; FAST lists it as color AR2 ("RED 2S"). It's a 2001.5, mfg. date 10/00, 2WD, has full size spare, side airbags, sunroof, and obviously leather. Interesting that a pre-facelift R50 front bumper cover and grille can be shoehorned onto a post-facelift one. I don't like the red color, too blinding and bright for my taste.

Personally, I don't care for the older front fascia. I prefer the post 2001 look.
I also have to agree that the red is a little much.
I can't remember ever seeing one on the road in that colour.

looks to me like it was hit in the front, repaired with 96-99 parts and then repainted red. Whether or not its the original color, I am assuming a repaint because of the color of the fender flare gaskets- I have never seen them red, and if so never in such a vivid red

Townie looked up the Vin and found the color to be original (On the R50.5 atleast).

One thing I don't get is; why make a Franken-car?

People looking to buy the model know what it looks like, and typically non-originality lowers the value of a vehicle.

Surely the additional cost of R50.5 bits would be less than the selling price difference between a normal R50.5 and this... :gotme

Well, if you're shopping for used replacement parts to fix collision damage, I'm sure the 96-99 were plenty more plentiful and cheaper.

Also, the front mud flap is painted, the rear isn't- I'm guessing it was in an accident.

And about people recognizing the details? Honestly not many people do, it looks like a Pathfinder, and if they have to turn away 2-3 people looking at it who know something is wrong, there will always be 10 other potential buyers who won't have any idea anything is wrong.

Its current red color might not be stock, I have no idea what the stock red actually looks like.

Not as bad as I had previously thought, so I guess the Franken-R50 is a different shade of red. hmmm

FAST lists multiple red colors, so maybe alex's is a different one.
