Hey Greg I was told by a guy named Paul Wall on here to put this thread in General Chat and see what you could do with it, this just happened to me and im now just trying to keep people aware of who this guy is. I originaly posted this in the Classifieds page cause thats where i was when the SCAMMER found me, under that thread you will see that there are some other people he tried to scam as well that helped me out and posted there comments. Heres the story:
I have seen and read about other people getting scammed but you never think its gonna happen to you till you send money and the seller vanishes.
-His name is Jonathan Tomas his handle is vq35derp. He joined on May 13 2010 and last visited this site on June 9, that was his last communication I had with him. I was looking to buy some suspension parts and he PM'd me saying that he had everything I needed. I asked for a couple pictures, he sent me 1 picture of the suspension but not everything was in the picture that he was gonna be selling to me. I asked him many times to send me more pictures and thats when he told me his camera was just lent to a friend out of town and his phone was some crappy cheap kind. He then gave me a huge story about how he wanted me to send him cash in a envelope something like, Money Reload Pack. I said hell no im not sending cash to someone in the mail, so I asked him for his Paypal and he responded with, i dont have one currently so let me set one up. He took his time setting up his account and there after I then sent him the money. This is where all communication was lost and things got fishy, he kept disappearing when i would try to contact him, days and days would go by and when he finally would respond it was with some crap about how it hasnt cleared into his account yet. I called PayPal 4 times and all 4 times they ensured me that it cleared on May 4th and was showing that he had indeed recieved my payment. This whole time i have saved every PM from this guy and now I have filed a dispute with Paypal. I have tried to contact this guy a ton of times but he refuses to contact me back, I have given him my cell number and instructions to call me any time of the night but no calls have been made to me. I have tried to be the adult and have given him many chances to try and contact me and let me know whats going on, but again nothing. I have both his email addresses, and was also told by another member on NICO that he almost got taken by this guy too with the same story (same suspension same money request and same camera lies) So Im the sucker here, but I want to make sure no one else on this site gets scammed by this guy again
Now i understand i used PayPal (and this is the reason why) so im gonna be getting my money back but the point of this is to let other people know who he is so they dont lose money. I really do feel sorry for people like this, its childish and sad that you have to scam and lie to people to get what you want.

"I had this same guy "vq35derp" contact me right after I had posted some hard to find parts for my s13 hatch in the wtb section. he said he had all the parts, I asked him for a pic he waited a week to tell me he had to go an buy a camera and he sends me a pic of some shell tellling me the parts are in the shell and hes gonna tow it to his friends shop to pull the parts I need. this all sounded fishy especially when I saw his join date..DON'T TRUST HIM"

I know not everyone is perfect and innocent and im sure not but damn i just cant sleep at night knowing i scammed someone, i know it sounds cheesy but i just couldnt do that to someone. To hurt someone on purpose and be ok with it...that takes balls.

So I posted a WTB for a S13 fender. Mr. Tomas emails me saying he'll sell me left and right panels for pretty cheap. I asked for pictures, he sends me a picture of of a clean turbo'd pignose. This is the same picture as from this thread: http://www.importatlanta.com/forums/sho ... ore!!!-%29

Hmm alrighty. He says he just picked up this car and he's putting on a Silvia front-end. I ask for proof of ownership. He says it's actually a customer's car he's doing the front-end for. I told him to send me pictures of the fender removed when he get's around to it.

So I'm kinda stringing him along waiting to catch him in a big lie, but I'm very disappointed that the only nibble I've had at a fender is from a scammer.

Loki, I'm assuming you're needing a driver's fender? Those things are rare as hell for some reason. (Been looking for one for a good price for a couple months)

Free bump. I hope everything works out.

It's rare, 'cause I'm looking for one :) LMK if you're looking to sell something. I'll post a WTB and that part will be more rare than a cheap, unmolested TT Supra.

Loki- steer clear of this guy, when you ask for more pics hes gonna tell you he lost his camera or he has to go buy one or he lent it out to a friend for the weekend, blah blah blah. This guys a joke!
Its now been 8 days since I disputed this transaction and Paypal is waiting there appropiate 10 day waiting period to try and contact the seller, they have tried for 8 days and of course no luck from Jonathan Tomas (vq35derp) the SCAMMER. So this guy really thinks hes gonna get away with this... some people just dont get it. I have called him out through countless emails and PM's and now have this thread going and another one in the classifieds and nothing. So please everyone this is simply an awarness thread.....DONT TRUST THIS GUY

Get me any info he offered up (location, email address, cell #, etc).

I'll ban the account after everyone has a chance to say their piece.

Ok unfortunitely all I have are his email addresses and handle on here.
His name is- Jonathan Tomas he goes by vq35derp
He joined May 13th of 2010, his last contact with me was on June 9th of 2010
His email is- [email protected], and another is- [email protected], and his PayPal account email is- [email protected]
Thats all i know, I now know the picture he sent me of the suspension was taken in 2008 (if i would of paid attention to the date attached to the picture). One of his emails has 348 so i looked that area code up and Rapid City South Dakota came up, but that could just be a random number. His other hotmail has CO which is Colorado, but again that could just be random.
Thats all I got, i look back now and see that i should of asked way more questions but ive been buying and selling on here for years with no problems so you never think this would happen to you till its to late.

I guess man, I dont know how to find out someones address like you, ive seen you do this to other scammers, find them and get all sorts of info on them. Its like watching magic! Haha. Its pretty amazing that they try and hide and it takes you all of 20 min to find out there info. If theres anything you want me to do on my end to help catch this guy let me know. Like call the authorities or whatever just let me know. Thanks for your help AZhitman I appreciate it

I was gonna point him to this thread awhile ago, but what's the point. He said he got ripped off on an SR20 by a money order. Said he got a counterfeit. Lol, okay. Who mails an engine before cashing the money order?

He will, don't worry. He'll most likely choose to leave it in here so it comes up in searches.. (I added his name to the title to help out with that)
