i recently had to replace my battery. this is the second time the battery has died in the truck in 6 months. i replaced it the first time with the battery from my 240sx. this second time i bought a new more powerful battery (more cca).
while installing the new battery i noticed the major ground wire from near the throttle body (just below the air filter) to the passenger wheel well had broken where it attaches to the cable lug on the motor side. i made a new ground from some 2 gauge welding cable that replaces the already good ground from the battery to the wheel well to the intake.
my question, is it possible that the broken ground affected the life of the battery somehow?
as a follow up would excessive vibration decrease a battery's life? i had brake issues that led to lots of front end vibration under braking. this was recently repaired, but both old batteries were subjected to the vibration and which may have caused the broken ground wire.
