Found an old alarm under my dash-can i use?

i found two boxes under my dash which are blinking . one says black widow. there is a grey wire with a sensor and a black and red wire dangling that appear to be cut from something. The red wire is hot. I wonder if i could salvage the alarms. i bought the car used. there is a relay with a thick yellow wire going to it that is just suspended by the wire. there is a diode on the relay. I'm assuming this might have flashed the light when the alarm went off.

Hey VanC, one of the boxes you found is the alarms "Brain" and the other box is probably a shock sensor. The relay is more than likely a starter kill relay, which will cut power to the starter when the alarm is active.
